'New Beginnings'
Textile artist and designer Poppykins, AKA Sam Taylor, has installed this 3 panel mixed media textile piece in The Pocket Gallery.
With crocheted sunflowers in her signature amigurimi style, appliqued over denim panels (drawing parallels with the indigoferin-rich woad and false indigo dye plants grown in the garden) alongside honeycomb shaped patchwork panels and decorative embroidered stitches, this work suggests a garden in high summer, full of bright, bold blooms and buzzing with life.
